Life After Stroke
You are not alone. Join a supportive community dedicated to rebuilding confidence, independence, and happiness for stroke survivors and their families in Carmarthen.
Our Mission
The object of the Carmarthen Stroke Club is the relief of persons who have suffered a stroke, their families, and carers. We provide support, advice, and recreational activities in the interests of social welfare to improve quality of life. Every year, thousands of people in Wales experience strokes, and we're here to ensure no one faces recovery alone.

How We Help
Emotional Support
Recovering from a stroke can be emotionally challenging. We offer a safe space to share experiences, frustrations, and triumphs with people who truly understand what you're going through.
Social Activities
Isolation is common after a stroke. Our regular meetings, outings, and events bring joy, laughter, and friendship back into daily life while helping rebuild confidence.
Family & Carer Support
We support families and carers too. Connect with others in similar situations, get advice, and take a well-deserved break while your loved one enjoys our activities.
Understanding Stroke Recovery
A stroke happens when blood flow to part of the brain is cut off. This can cause lasting effects including:
- Physical challenges: Weakness, mobility issues, coordination difficulties
- Communication problems: Speech and language difficulties (aphasia)
- Cognitive changes: Memory, attention, and problem-solving challenges
- Emotional impact: Depression, anxiety, frustration, and mood changes
Recovery is a journey, not a destination. At Carmarthen Stroke Club, we walk alongside you every step of the way, offering practical support, emotional encouragement, and a community that understands.

Carer Support
Caring for a stroke survivor can be demanding. We offer respite, advice, and connections to other carers who understand the challenges you face.
